Angelfire, Tripod, etc. - who's the best
nowadays? Who still allows user to link
to downloadable content, mp3s etc.?
Cheers,

Freewebs (www.freewebs.com) are good - pretty basic, template based, but no adverts or popups and plenty of bandwidth. They allow linking or you can host a certain amount of media with them. Check out my Poison Hearts site, that's a Freewebs job (although all the pictures have gone - I had a proper .com domain name which held all the pics but that's just expired, and as the band are defunct now I didn't see any point in maintaining the site).
EDIT: Actually most of the site had been transferred to the poisonhearts.com domain and when it expired it didn't transfer back, so it's gone. Ah well.
